Think about a long trade on Apple stock at $150. Price drops to $147, rallies up to $160, and finally exits at $155.

Your net profit is +$5. But during that trade's lifetime, your MAE was -$3 ($147) and your MFE was +$10 ($160). Knowing those two numbers changes everything about how you manage future positions.

The Flaw of Static Risk-to-Reward Ratios

Static risk-to-reward targets look great on paper. In practice, they ignore market structure and volatility completely.
